Germany, Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, Iran and China are increasingly looking to the East for inspiration. Though the strong economic dynamic in the region has yet to be widely acknowledged. Across the endless plains between Germany and China, a new silk road is coming into being: one that consists of Internet cables and railroad tracks. Do these new transport and migration routes to the East mean we are moving towards a new world order? And what does this mean for the current, US-led, world order? Will Donald Trump's recent election win mean the end of American leadership and the rise of China?
