To organize one of the first, if not the first, comprehensive history of the use of ceramic in twentieth century art, is an adventure. This lecture will take you on this adventure. Big exhibitions like this (250 pieces of art) seem to be coming out of nowhere, but usually they are the result of a long and intensive preparation. As to CERAMIX it was thanks to a mix of personal meetings, international experience, chance and scholarly reasearch that the project took its final shape. How did this exhibition start, and why? How is the publication related to the exhibition? All these questions and many others will be answered in this lecture.
