Toen gitarist François R. Cambuzat tijdens een toer in Azië in contact kwam met een muzikant die hem vertelde over shamanistische rituelen in China, besloot hij zelf op zoek te gaan naar rituelen uit zijn thuisland Tunesië. Maandenlang dook hij in de wereld van tranceceremonies en spirituele rituelen van de islamitische heilige Sidi Marzûq, uitgevoerd door de Banga-community uit Zuid-Tunesië. Met zijn band Ifriqiyya Electrique (vorig jaar voor het eerst buiten Noord-Afrika te zien) brengt hij dit onvervalste ritueel in een hedendaagse jasje, voorzien van zelfgeschoten videobeelden. De overweldigende lading aan percussie, bevelende stemmen en elektronica laat je dansen alsof je de controle over je lichaam bent verloren.
